Qatar Airways Expands Starlink Upgrade to Airbus A350
Qatar Airways is set to enhance its fleet with Starlink connectivity, following its Boeing 777 upgrades and aiming to offer high-speed internet on Airbus A350 aircraft.
Qatar Airways, recognized as the largest airline globally implementing Starlink’s high-speed internet, is nearly finished with its upgrade across its Boeing 777 fleet. This swift installation highlights the airline’s leadership in in-flight technology and is noted as one of the quickest Starlink implementations within the aviation sector.
In a newsworthy development, Qatar Airways plans to equip its Airbus A350 aircraft with Starlink Wi-Fi this month, making it the first airline to integrate such advanced connectivity on this aircraft model.
This initiative follows the airline’s successful deployment on the Boeing 777, enhancing the inflight experience for more passengers with free, high-speed internet for various activities, including streaming and gaming while flying at cruising altitude.
Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways’ CEO, stated, “We are only a few planes away from completing the full fleet upgrade of our Boeing 777s with Starlink, marking a historic milestone for a widebody fleet. This April, we will lead the industry by starting the installation of Starlink on Airbus A350s, pushing forward our vision to elevate airborne connectivity.”
