The airline’s expansion marks its entry into Bihar with daily flights connecting key cities.
Akasa Air, recognized as India’s fastest-growing airline, commenced its operations from Darbhanga, marking its inaugural service in Bihar. The airline now offers daily flight routes from Hyderabad to Darbhanga, with a layover in Delhi that does not require a change of aircraft. This new service enhances connectivity for travelers between a popular tourist destination and two major metropolitan areas.
The first flight was ceremoniously launched by Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, the Honourable Minister of Civil Aviation, alongside the Founder and CEO of Akasa Air, Vinay Dube, at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi. The event also saw participation from various senior officials and the leadership of Delhi International Airport Limited. The inaugural flight departed Delhi at 9:00 AM and touched down at Darbhanga Airport at 10:55 AM.
The celebration continued at Darbhanga Airport, where the Akasa team and airport officials marked the historic first flight to Delhi at 11:30 AM.
With this addition, Darbhanga joins the list as the 28th destination in Akasa Air’s growing network, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to improving air connectivity, particularly from metro cities to Tier 2 and Tier 3 locations throughout India.
Vinay Dube, the Founder and CEO, expressed gratitude to Minister Naidu for supporting this significant launch, stating, “We are proud to initiate our operations in Darbhanga, which enhances connectivity and opens doors for economic development in Bihar. We look forward to serving the local community with our efficient services.”
