United Airlines Expands Flight Options from San Francisco
United Airlines announces a 20% increase in flights from San Francisco International Airport, adding new routes to key destinations worldwide.
United Airlines is set to increase its flight capacity from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) by 20% in 2025, introducing several new international destinations. The airline aims to offer over 300 daily flights from this hub during the summer, marking a return to pre-pandemic levels.
New Destinations Include Adelaide, Ho Chi Minh City, and Manila
United’s expansion project will cover new routes, including flights to San Jose, Costa Rica; Panama City, Panama; seasonal services to Barcelona; and additional capacity to Rome and London Heathrow.
In Asia and Australia, new routes to Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh will be expected by the end of the year, providing year-round flights between the Bay Area and Manila and seasonal services to Adelaide.
Furthermore, United is investing $2.6 billion into improvements at the SFO hub, with a focus on modernizing Terminal 3 by 2029.
Patrick Quayle, the Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances at United Airlines, remarked, “We continue to challenge ourselves every season when we announce new service to hidden gem cities around the world.”
The push for operational expansion is part of a strategy to establish United as a premier option for travelers seeking unique international connections directly from San Francisco.
