Taiwanese air carrier China Airlines has confirmed an order for ten Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, following up on a commitment first announced in December 2024.
The newly ordered A350-1000s are set to operate on long-haul routes to North America and Europe, providing operational compatibility with the airline’s existing A350-900 fleet, ensuring smooth integration and operational efficiency.
Chair Kao Shing-Hwang stated: “Our investment in the A350-1000 supports our international growth strategy and reflects our commitment to enhancing our passengers’ travel experience. Our confidence in the A350-1000’s superior range, fuel efficiency, and comfort will significantly aid in transforming our long-haul operations.”
Airbus EVP Sales Benoît de Saint-Exupéry commented: “We welcome China Airlines to our growing family of A350-1000 operators. By selecting the A350-1000, recognized as the world’s most advanced long-haul aircraft, China Airlines elevates its fleet while prioritizing efficiency and comfort in long-haul travel.”
China Airlines operates various Airbus models in its comprehensive service network. Currently, the airline has 15 A350-900s servicing long-haul routes to Europe and the USA, along with select flights to destinations in Asia and the Pacific. Additionally, it has 15 A321neo and 16 A330 aircraft active in regional services.
