The ARANOA will sail in the South Pacific by 2027

Aranui Cruises has announced the launch of a second ship, the ARANOA, which will operate in the South Pacific starting from 2027. This ship, manned entirely by a Polynesian crew, will accommodate 198 passengers across 93 cabins, 62 of which will have private balconies.

Key Features:

  • Two restaurants
  • Two bars
  • Two whirlpools
  • Boutique and spa
  • Fitness center and tattoo salon

Marketing, Communications, and Operations Director Romina Wong stated: “Aranui Cruises has a proud heritage of helping in the development of the economies of remote Tahitian Islands by supplying the islanders of the Marquesas, and we are delighted that through the launch of Aranoa in 2027, we will be able to continue this tradition by supplying the remote Austral Islands and their residents with the provisions they require the most.”

Wong emphasized that this will be the first cruise to regularly bring tourists to the Austral Islands, fostering both tourism development and new economic opportunities for residents.

Environmental Commitment:
The ARANOA, approximately 116 meters long and 21 meters wide, is being constructed with sustainability in mind, featuring a diesel-electric propulsion system and environmentally friendly coatings to reduce its ecological footprint.

Passengers will explore five main islands including Rimatara, Rurutu, Tubuai, Raivavae, and Rapa, known for their untouched beauty, rich culture, and local artistry, providing an immersive experience into Polynesian life.
