The St Regis Venice Awarded Green Key Certification
The prestigious Venetian hotel is recognized for its commitment to sustainability and environmental practices.
The St. Regis Venice has proudly achieved the Green Key certification from The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), recognizing its dedication to sustainability practices within the hotel.
In order to earn this esteemed certification, the hotel implemented several initiatives focused on sustainability, with staff actively participating in these efforts, supported by Marriott International’s environmental training programs.
Highlights of the Sustainability Practices:
- The hotel is completely plastic-free and uses only LED lighting.
- Guests are encouraged to reduce water consumption by allowing linen changes only when necessary.
- Dining services prioritize seasonal and local food, utilizing up to 90% locally sourced ingredients.
- Surplus food is either redistributed to staff canteens or donated to local charities.
Quote from General Manager Audrey Huttert: “Sustainability is woven into every aspect of our operations, from pioneering initiatives such as being the first hotel in Venice to install electric charging stations for the boats, to our community outreach programmes. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to offering guests an unforgettable experience while preserving the beauty of Venice for future generations.”
