In its recent market analysis, Phocuswright has indicated that the travel industry in Northeast Asia is set to achieve significant growth, exceeding $30 billion in online travel bookings by the year 2026.

The growth is attributed to a variety of factors, including rising consumer demand, demographic trends, and strategic industry dynamics. The transformation phase from recovery to growth is projected to enhance overall benchmark bookings up to 2027.
Phocuswright highlighted an impressive increase in travel activities in the region, indicating a gross booking rise of 116%, totaling $44.6 billion. It forecasts a continued annual growth, predicting the travel bookings will reach $51.3 billion in 2024 and escalate to $60.3 billion by 2027.
The Shift to Digital
The report emphasizes an irreversible shift towards online and app-based travel services, accelerated by advancements in technology and AI-driven booking tools. The upward trajectory in online bookings, once borders reopened, led to surpassing pre-pandemic levels of $15.6 billion in 2023 with projections estimating it will break through the $30 billion threshhold in 2026.
