GHA DISCOVERY Membership Expands by 18% in India, Reaching 623,000
The Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) has reported an 18% growth in its loyalty program, GHA DISCOVERY, resulting in a membership total of 623,000 in India for 2024. This marks a significant milestone as international spending by Indian members (54%) has now outpaced domestic revenue (46%).
The preferred international destinations for Indian travelers include Thailand, the UAE, and Singapore.
During recent events in Delhi, GHA and its associated hotels discussed strategies and market trends, emphasizing the importance of India as a development market. Notable speakers included Chris Hartley, Anuraag Bhatnagar, and Dillip Rajakarier.
Hartley stated, “The rapid growth of India’s luxury travel market is reflected in the soaring engagement of Indian travelers with our brands worldwide.”
The report also highlighted the introduction of Arq by The Leela, an ultra-luxury concept that aims to meet the rising demand from affluent Indian and global travelers seeking bespoke experiences.
Minor Hotels is also expanding in India, having launched its first property, Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur, marking the start of a plan to open 50 properties in the coming decade.
The findings confirm that India’s luxury hotel segment is not only thriving but is also influencing global trends. The presence of GHA in India continues to grow, supporting travelers with premium offerings and experiences.
