On October 2nd, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport expanded its international service by adding a new route from Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) served by Philippine Airlines (PAL).
The inaugural flight arrived after dark, resulting in unique photo opportunities. Washington State, home to the fourth-largest Filipino community in the U.S., has long awaited this route, as noted by SEA airport officials.
For belly cargo, this new route will contribute up to 60 tons of capacity per week, enhancing regional trade. Seattle becomes PAL’s eighth destination in North America, complementing its existing 46 weekly flights to cities such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, New York, Toronto, Honolulu, and Guam.
Philippine Airlines will use Boeing 777-300ERs for the MNL-SEA route, featuring lie-flat Business Class seats and a menu of Filipino and Western dishes. The new service also connects to PAL’s extensive domestic and regional international network, including destinations like Cebu, Davao, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Kuala Lumpur.
