Key Insights on Women’s Participation in Corporate Travel
According to an analysis provided by myBiz, the corporate booking platform of MakeMyTrip, women accounted for 15.8% of corporate flight bookings in 2024. This statistic indicates that for every six corporate flyers, one was a woman.
MyBiz caters to over 64,000 corporate clients, analyzing travel patterns from nearly 3,000 businesses, each comprising more than 200 employees and with annual travel spending exceeding ₹1 crore.
Sector Analysis
In terms of sector representation:
- The Education sector had the highest percentage of women travelers at 28%.
- This was followed by Media and Entertainment (25%) and Consulting (22%).
- Industries like Manufacturing, Chemicals, Electronics, Energy, Textiles, and Pharmaceuticals showed significantly lower representation at around 10%.
City Representation
In metropolitan areas, Mumbai led with nearly 19% of corporate flyers being female, followed by Delhi (18%) and Bengaluru (17%). Other cities included Hyderabad (13%), Kolkata and Ahmedabad (12%), and Chennai and Pune (11%). Notably, the Mumbai-Bengaluru, Delhi-Bengaluru, and Mumbai-Delhi routes exhibited the highest number of women travelers.
