Cathay Group’s low-cost carrier HK Express has launched two new routes connecting Hong Kong with South Korea.
Announcing that “The K-Wave is back in Hong Kong,” HK Express has introduced two new routes: one to Cheongju International Airport and the other to Daegu International Airport.
The Hong Kong-Cheongju route will commence on June 5, while Hong Kong-Daegu flights will start on June 6.
Airline executives highlighted that these new routes will enable passengers to explore South Korea’s rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and iconic K-drama filming locations.
Currently, HK Express stands out as the only airline in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area offering direct flights to five major destinations in South Korea. Flights to Cheongju will operate four times a week: on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Conversely, flights to Daegu will take off three times weekly on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
It’s noteworthy that the last flights from Hong Kong to Daegu were in 2019, reducing service as T’Way Air ceased operations on the route.
