
Through a strategic partnership, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) and Huawei have launched several initiatives designed to promote Ras Al Khaimah as a prime destination for Chinese tourists.
Utilizing Huawei’s advanced ecosystems like Petal Ads, HUAWEI AppGallery, and HUAWEI Themes, they have successfully showcased Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism attractions to millions in China. Key campaigns, including one during the Golden Week, emphasized the emirate’s breathtaking scenery, vibrant culture, and unique experiences through Huawei’s Petal Ads and major Chinese Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
William Hu, Managing Director of Huawei’s Consumer Business Group in the region, stated: “Our collaboration with Ras Al Khaimah reflects our shared aim for excellence and innovation, aligning with Ras Al Khaimah’s vision to become a leading global hub for tourism and entertainment. The Huawei ecosystem serves as a vital entry point for tapping into the Chinese market and fostering engagement with local enterprises there.”
Raki Phillips, CEO of RAKTDA, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “Our collaboration with Huawei has been transformative in our approach to the Chinese travel market, one of our top ten source markets offering significant opportunities. Leveraging Huawei’s innovative platforms, we’ve successfully highlighted our emirate’s diverse tourism offerings and established a strong presence on the travel radar for Chinese travelers.”
As part of this alliance, Ras Al Khaimah hosted the HUAWEI AppGallery Gamers Cup in November 2024, marking a significant event for Esports in the region. This inaugural beachside gaming tournament attracted nearly 1,000 participants, setting new standards for future events.
RAKTDA also participated in the Huawei Developer Conference (HDC) 2024 MEA, showcasing the emirate’s distinctive position as a future-oriented travel destination and deepening ties with Chinese businesses.
