Jazeera Airways Plans to Manage Ground Handling in Kuwait Internally

Jazeera Airways is set to enhance its operations by taking ground handling services in-house at Kuwait International Airport, aiming to improve efficiency and customer experience.

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s prominent low-cost airline, has unveiled intentions to take over ground handling services at Kuwait International Airport. This strategic decision is part of its broader initiative to enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experience, and maintain competitive pricing.

Marwan Boodai, the Chairman of Jazeera Airways, stated:

“Following our successful execution of aircraft maintenance and aviation training at Jazeera, bringing ground handling operations in-house marks another key milestone in our long-term strategy to enhance efficiency and elevate the passenger experience. As we continue to expand and prepare for the arrival of new aircraft, this strategic move will allow us to improve turnaround times, deliver superior service quality, and achieve lower unit costs—ensuring that we keep our fares affordable for our customers.”

Boodai also emphasized the commitment to contributing to the growth of Kuwait’s aviation sector in line with the government’s Vision 2035, promising new projects aimed at creating job opportunities for Kuwaiti graduates.

Entering its 20th year of operation, Jazeera Airways boasts a fleet of 24 Airbus A320 aircraft, catering to nearly 5 million passengers each year and commanding 31% of passenger traffic in Kuwait, with over 18,000 ground handling rotations annually, solidifying its role as a key player in the regional aviation market.

With a significant growth trajectory ahead, Jazeera Airways is on track to receive 26 new aircraft, comprising 18 Airbus A320s and 8 Airbus A321s, starting delivery in 2027 alongside its recent acquisition of six Airbus A320ceo aircraft to bolster operational efficiency and support its transformation goals.
