
Indonesia Increases Tourism Campaign at ITB Berlin 2025
Indonesian Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana enhances promotional efforts at the global tourism event.
Indonesian Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana kicked off a promotional campaign for her country at ITB Berlin from March 4 to 6. During this event, she and her team sought collaborations through meetings with international counterpart agencies. Among the notable figures she interacted with were Zurab Pololikashvili, the UN Tourism Secretary General, and prospective candidate Gloria Guevara, as well as Dieter Janecek and Dr. Marion Weber from the German Ministry of Economic Affairs.
The minister outlined five key flagship programs during discussions, including:
- Indonesia’s Clean Tourism Movement
- Tourism 5.0 featuring AI and digitalization
- Enhancing tourism through gastronomy, marine, and wellness sectors
- Event planning emphasizing indigenous intellectual property
- Promotion of tourism villages
In a statement to the media, Wardhana expressed optimism, stating, “I am hopeful this partnership will boost tourism’s role in Indonesia’s economic development.”
