IndiGo has made a significant announcement regarding its expansion, unveiling plans for non-stop flights to Manchester and Amsterdam. This new service is set to commence in July 2025, representing IndiGo’s entry into long-haul international travel.
The Manchester route will be the only direct flight from India to the north of the UK. These new destinations will enhance connectivity between India and Europe, allowing for convenient travel options for customers.
Details of the Service:
- Frequency: The flights to Manchester and Amsterdam are scheduled for three times weekly.
- Objective: This launch aims to meet the demand for seamless connections between Europe and Asia, capitalizing on the Indian diaspora in these regions.
Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, highlighted the importance of these new routes, stating, “Today, we unlock a new and very exciting chapter in IndiGo’s growth journey, connecting India to the heart of Europe.”
IndiGo’s recent damp lease agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways will enable them to operate a Boeing 787-9 aircraft to support these routes. With plans to enhance its fleet, the airline is looking to further expand its presence in Europe by evaluating additional markets for future long-haul flights.
