AirAsia collaborates with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to introduce 16 new travel destinations that encourage exploration beyond traditional tourist spots.

AirAsia has teamed up with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to promote 16 unique destinations across Thailand. This initiative encourages travelers to venture away from the usual tourist hotspots.

promotional offers

As part of this collaboration, AirAsia is offering promotional fares starting at 880 THB per one-way journey. Bookings can be made from March 3 to March 9, 2025, with travel available from March 10 to September 30, 2025.

Exploring cultural diversity

The campaign aims to illustrate Thailand’s rich cultural diversity by pairing each destination with a specific musical theme to engage younger travelers. The initiative contributes to TAT’s goal of promoting tourism throughout all regions, fostering sustainable economic support for local communities.

Featured destinations

The 16 chosen locations cover all four regions of Thailand, embracing both popular and lesser-known areas. In the north, visitors can explore Chiang Rai, Phitsanulok, Nan, and Lampang. The northeastern area includes Loei, Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Buriram, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, and Roi Et. The south features Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Chumphon, Ranong, and Narathiwat. Flights to Udon Thani will be available from both Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports.

Sustainability and tourism growth

TAT’s Governor, Thapanee Kiatphaibool, highlighted how this initiative aligns with TAT’s mission to connect key cities with less-visited tourist locations, promoting a more balanced distribution of tourism income.

“By linking travelers to emerging destinations, we aim to create a broader tourism network that benefits local economies while offering visitors new and exciting experiences,” she remarked.

AirAsia’s commitment

Thai AirAsia’s CEO, Santisuk Klongchaiya, reaffirmed the airline’s dedication to fostering domestic travel to these special destinations, providing cost-effective and frequent flights.

“AirAsia is committed to supporting domestic travel, especially to these unique destinations. While they may not be major tourist hubs, these cities offer distinctive charms that appeal to a new generation of travelers seeking experiences that resonate with their lifestyles,” he stated.

This collaboration between AirAsia and TAT seeks to enhance travel throughout Thailand’s lesser-known sites, bolstering local economies while providing visitors with a refreshing perspective on Thailand’s diverse tourism opportunities.
