Loganair Boosts National Connectivity with Southampton Base Launch

Loganair, the UK’s top regional airline, is enhancing its service capabilities by establishing a new base at Southampton Airport. This expansion includes a direct flight route from Southampton to Manchester, scheduled to operate three times daily starting from October 26, 2025.

The initiative aims to improve domestic connectivity and create numerous job opportunities for local pilots, cabin crew, and engineers.

With this new base, Loganair anticipates adding over 140,000 additional seats each year, aligning with its long-term strategy to boost connectivity among the UK’s regional airports. The focus remains on offering reliable services between less-served urban areas, exemplifying a significant shift in the air travel industry.

Impact on Regional Connectivity

In light of rising train fares and recent rail strikes, airlines are stepping in to provide dependable and frequent connections between regional cities. This strategic move by Loganair not only meets the demand for smoother travel options but also contributes to local economies by creating jobs and enhancing travel accessibility for individuals outside London’s major hubs.
