Insights on Travel Sales by Andrew Boocock

Sales and marketing are crucial for the travel and hospitality sectors, especially following the pandemic resurgence. At the recent MarketHub 2025 summit in Macau hosted by HBX Group, vice-president Andrew Boocock participated in a panel addressing key industry trends.

During an interview with Travel Daily Media’s Gary Marshall, Boocock discussed the impressive turnout of approximately 350 attendees, highlighting the shift of the MEAPAC conference to be the first event of the series this year, which previously concluded the year in Bangkok.

Boocock’s Role and Client Focus

According to Boocock, his team concentrates on various travel sellers from leisure angles, ranging from online travel agencies (OTAs) to traditional retail agents and partners. This includes considerations for corporate sectors that integrate travel within their ecosystems.

Client Examples from Traditional Retail

Boocock notes entities like Flight Centre and Hello World in Australia as significant brick-and-mortar agencies, while in Japan, traditional companies such as HIS and JTB continue to play vital roles in travel package sales despite a growing online trend.

Expanding Offerings in Fintech

With a robust strategy to not only focus on accommodation but also to venture into fintech, Boocock emphasizes the necessity of diversifying services, including partnerships with insurance providers and the integration of digital payment solutions.

For inquiries or onboarding, clients can reach out via the HPX website to connect with the relevant team. Each onboarding is tailored, often taking mere days if one requires web access, although more complex needs like API solutions require additional time based on client resources.

About Andrew Boocock

Currently operating out of Australia, Boocock took on his role in November 2024, focusing on enhancing HBX Group’s presence in key strategic regions.
