
Samarkand International Airport Expansion
Samarkand International Airport recently announced an extension of its direct flight services to Baku, Azerbaijan, and Krasnoyarsk, Russia, commencing on April 1st.
Azerbaijan Airlines will launch bi-weekly flights from Samarkand to Baku, scheduled on Wednesdays and Sundays, departing at 2:55 AM, with a flight duration of approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Additionally, Ural Airlines will facilitate direct flights to Krasnoyarsk, the major cultural and economic hub in Eastern Siberia, offering service once a week on Tuesdays, also starting April 1st.
In a statement, Ulugbek Shamsikulov, CEO of Air Marakanda, remarked: “After record-breaking growth and passenger figures in 2024, we will begin the summer season with important new services to Baku and Krasnoyarsk. These flight connections will strengthen the cultural, tourist and business ties between Uzbekistan and these two important countries, while providing passengers with convenient and affordable air transport links.”
