A new AI chatbot-based immersive game invites visitors to engage with art through a murder mystery adventure.

National Gallery Singapore is collaborating with HIDDEN, a renowned experiences company specializing in immersive games, to introduce a new AI chatbot-based game titled FRAMED: A Murder Mystery in National Gallery Singapore. This interactive experience encourages visitors to explore art in an engaging manner.

Beginning March 1, 2025, participants can jump into this thrilling adventure, solving puzzles, uncovering secrets, and learning how art can influence identity. The scenario unfolds where players are falsely accused of a crime. This engaging self-guided game is hosted on WhatsApp, allowing players to follow the narrative at their own pace, adding a fresh twist to the traditional gallery tour experience.

Incorporating an AI chatbot named Void Deck Cat, the game provides clues to unveil hidden elements across various galleries within the National Gallery Singapore. Players can enjoy this unique experience individually or in groups without needing to download any additional apps.

Supriya Ghosh, Deputy Director at National Gallery Singapore, expresses excitement about how this game enhances visitor experiences: “The Gallery is constantly pushing its limits on how art can be experienced. The HIDDEN game adds a unique layer, with the AI chatbot acting like an unseen guide that shares secrets of the Gallery.”

Participants can purchase tickets online and will receive a QR code to begin their game journey. The AI chatbot not only guides players through clues but also shares information about the heritage, art, and history of the National Gallery Singapore.

Lim Yee Hung, Group Chief Executive of HIDDEN, stated: “With ‘FRAMED’, we merge our love for video games with real-life interactions at iconic places like the National Gallery Singapore, allowing visitors to engage with art, heritage, and culture in a familiar and enjoyable way.”
