Royal Caribbean has once again elevated the standard for cruise vacations by unveiling the name and details of its third Icon Class ship, Legend of the Seas. This remarkable new vessel is designed to enhance family vacation experiences, offering unparalleled adventures and activities.
The Legacy Continues
The Icon Class legacy, which started with the groundbreaking Icon of the Seas and was followed by Star of the Seas, is reaching new heights with Legend of the Seas. Scheduled to launch from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in November 2026, this innovative ship will offer 6-night Western Caribbean and 8-night Southern Caribbean cruises, including stops at the acclaimed Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas.
European Adventures
Before its Caribbean debut, Legend of the Seas will embark on summer journeys through Europe, featuring 7-night Western Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona, beginning August 2026. Passengers can anticipate visiting iconic destinations such as France, Italy, and Spain, loaded with historical landmarks, picturesque landscapes, and sunny beaches.
Unmatched Onboard Experiences
The ship is crafted to serve all types of travelers, comprising eight neighborhoods and over 40 dining and bar options. Thrill-seekers can enjoy the captivating Crown’s Edge, a combination of skywalk, ropes course, and thrill ride, as well as the largest waterpark at sea, Category 6. There is something for everyone on board.
Travelers can choose from seven pools, including Royal Bay, the largest pool at sea, the swim-up bar Swim & Tonic, and the adults-only Hideaway with its unique infinity pool. Families will appreciate Surfside, a special neighborhood tailored for the younger ones, featuring numerous activities and the three-story Ultimate Family Townhouse.
Sustainability at Sea
Legend of the Seas will mark Royal Caribbean’s fourth ship to utilize liquefied natural gas (LNG), along with state-of-the-art environmental programs. From waste heat recovery systems to shore power connections, this vessel sets the stage for Royal Caribbean Group’s objective of launching a net-zero cruise ship by 2035.

The booking window for Legend of the Seas will soon be open on Royal Caribbean’s website with exclusive early access for Crown & Anchor Society loyalty members ahead of the official opening on February 20.
Michael Bayley stated, “Legend of the Seas is the next bold step in this exciting era of vacations and the continuation of the Icon Class legacy. We look forward to delivering this revolutionary lineup of experiences to more families and adventurers across Europe, the Caribbean, and beyond.”
