Abu Dhabi Airports reported a significant rise in passenger numbers, reaching over 29 million in 2024, thanks to strategic growth and new routes.

Abu Dhabi Airports, which operates the emirate’s five commercial airports, announced impressive growth in 2024, welcoming 29.4 million passengers, a 28.1% increase over the previous year. This growth was facilitated by network expansion and strategic partnerships.

Zayed International Airport (AUH) was pivotal in this surge, adding 29 new routes and welcoming eight new airlines, including British Airways and Air Astana.

Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, stated:

“2024 was a highly successful year for Abu Dhabi Airports, marked by record-breaking passenger traffic and significant cargo growth.”

Key Highlights:

  • Cargo traffic increased by 21%, bringing total to 678,990 tonnes.
  • Investments in infrastructure continued, including the Northern Runway Rehabilitation Project and the new US Customs facility.
  • Focus on accessibility with initiatives like the Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation and new Sensory Space.

Abu Dhabi Airports aims to further enhance operational efficiency and passenger experiences, solidifying its role as a global aviation leader.
