Thailand Showcases Tourism Highlights at SATTE 2025
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) showcased Thailand’s tourism potential at the South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE) 2025.
The event was held from February 19 to 21 at the Yashobhoomi – India International Convention and Expo Centre. For its 16th consecutive year at SATTE, TAT highlighted Thailand’s diverse travel experiences to strengthen its appeal among Indian travelers.
As India’s largest travel and tourism fair, SATTE 2025 is expected to welcome over 35,000 visitors and 1,400 exhibitors. The Thailand Stand, covering 300 square metres, included an information area, a business networking space, and an interactive cultural demonstration area showcasing Thai art and culture.
This stand was jointly presented by 50 Thai tourism businesses, fostering business-to-business (B2B) engagements and collaborations.
A Solid Platform for Tourism Promotion
Pattaraanong Na Chiangmai, TAT deputy governor for international marketing in Asia and the South Pacific, emphasized the significance of the event. In a statement, she declared: “SATTE 2025 is a vital platform for Thai tourism operators to foster business opportunities, introduce new travel products, and promote exclusive packages tailored to Indian tourists. It strengthens Thailand’s position as a premier destination under the globally recognized ‘Amazing Thailand’ brand, aligning with the ‘Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year’ initiative.”
India remains one of Thailand’s fastest-growing tourism markets, with 2,129,149 Indian visitors recorded in 2024, marking a 30.74 percent increase from 2023. This growth is attributed to Thailand’s visa exemption policy, which allows stays of up to 60 days, along with extensive air connectivity providing 2.93 million seats in 2024, nearly a full recovery to pre-pandemic levels.
With a target of 2.3 million Indian arrivals in 2025, TAT is actively expanding its marketing efforts to cater to key traveler segments, including families, luxury leisure, weddings, celebrations, and golf tourism.
Flagship Initiatives
As part of its strategic initiatives, TAT has launched two flagship projects for Indian travelers. The Living it Up in Thailand campaign promotes cultural, culinary, and adventure experiences for Indian millennials through collaborations with travel platforms.
The Celebrations with Care and Inner Shine campaign targets India’s growing wedding and anniversary travel market by engaging wedding planners and party organizers with exclusive promotions and familiarization trips.
Thailand continues to attract Indian travelers with its diverse experiences, world-class hospitality, and strong connectivity. Popular destinations include Bangkok, Chon Buri, Phuket, Krabi, and Surat Thani, along with emerging favorites like Ko Samui and Chiang Rai. Indian visitors engage in beach experiences, Thai cuisine, nightlife, wellness retreats, and heritage tours.
