To enhance the visibility of Taiwan as a premium destination for high-end travel, the Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) will join forces with airlines, travel agencies, and cultural groups to be part of the 2025 South Asia Travel & Tourism Exchange (SATTE 2025), scheduled for February 19 to 21, 2025, at the YASHOBHOOMI-India International Convention & Expo Centre in New Delhi.

The Taiwanese delegation will consist of 23 members from 12 different organizations. They will also be organizing a Taiwan Destination Seminar and Networking event in New Delhi on February 18, and in Mumbai on February 24. The TTA aims to bolster partnerships with Indian travel professionals and attract more Indian tourists to Taiwan.

Recent statistics from TTA indicate that 34,926 Indian tourists visited Taiwan between January and November 2024, reflecting a 20.2% increase from 2023. Similarly, data from the Indian Ministry of Tourism noted that the number of outbound Indian travelers surged to 25,087,316 during January to October 2024, up by 8.49% year-on-year. With India’s growing economy and status as the world’s most populous country, Taiwan recognizes significant potential in the outbound tourism market.

The Taiwan Destination Seminar and Networking will host over 100 Indian travel agents and media representatives to promote bilateral exchanges. Based on surveys by TTA, key motivators for Indian travelers to visit Taiwan include “scenic beauty” and “shopping.” Taiwan’s diverse culinary offerings, especially its vegetarian options, are also anticipated to align well with Indians’ dietary preferences. Furthermore, Taiwan is targeting unique experiences such as overseas weddings and will highlight offers related to luxury tourism, shopping festivals, cultural tourism, and incentive travel.
