President Francisco Salado presented the project during a meeting with mayors from Álora, Ardales, and Valle de Abdalajís, as well as representatives from the consortium managing the Caminito. Salado elaborated that the new bridge will be located at the final stretch of the route, just before the area above the iron train bridge and the El Chorro tunnel. The bridge will be supported by 4,500-kilogram sustainable steel cables, reaching a maximum height of 50 meters, with a descending slope and a 7% drop.

Salado also announced that various events are being organized to celebrate this occasion. The Caminito del Rey has been an economic and tourism driver for the Málaga province, attracting 2.9 million visitors over the last decade and generating an economic impact exceeding 400 million euros since its reopening. Moreover, it has led to a remarkable increase in accommodation in the region, with establishments growing from 210 to 893 in a decade.
