CapitaLand Ascott Trust Included in S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025
CapitaLand Ascott Trust becomes the only lodging trust from the Asia Pacific region to be featured in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025.
CapitaLand Ascott Trust (CLAS) has made its debut in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025, marking the only lodging trust represented from the Asia Pacific region.
CLAS is acknowledged as the only Singapore-listed trust in the Equity Real Estate Investment Trusts category. The Trust received recognition as an Industry Mover, achieving the most significant improvement in its sector.
Out of over 7,690 global companies assessed, only 780 received recognition within the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for 2025.
Inclusion in the Yearbook is dependent on the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), which evaluates a company’s performance and management of significant environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks, linking sustainability efforts to business strategies.
Operating with Sustainability at Its Core
Serena Teo, CEO of CapitaLand Ascott Trust Management Limited, emphasized that sustainability is fundamental to all initiatives. She stated:
“As CLAS continues to expand as the largest lodging trust in Asia Pacific, we endeavor to grow responsibly. We integrate sustainability in every stage from investment to design, development, and operations.”
Teo also noted that the Trust has greening initiatives that have covered over 50 percent of its global portfolio, aiming for 100 percent by 2030. Six out of eight properties undergoing asset enhancement initiatives (AEIs) have already achieved green certification.
