
Cebu Pacific Accounts for Nearly Half of 2024 Passenger Traffic at MCIA
Cebu Pacific reports significant growth in passenger volume at Mactan-Cebu International Airport, highlighting its connectivity and increased seat capacity.
Cebu Pacific, the low-cost airline in the Philippines, reported having transported 5.6 million passengers to and from Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) in 2024, constituting nearly 50% of the airport’s total passenger volume of 11.3 million for that year.
This marks a 34.7% increase in the airline’s flights to the Central Philippines, amounting to 4,824 flights in January 2025, compared to 3,580 flights in January 2024. Additionally, Cebu Pacific’s available seat capacity surged by 51.6%, increasing to 717,000 seats from nearly 473,000 seats.
Context
Cebu Pacific connects MCIA to six international cities: Bangkok, Incheon, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Osaka, and Singapore. Domestically, the airline operates to 24 routes including major destinations such as Manila, Davao, and Boracay.
