Aehcos Projects Hotel Occupancy Rates Exceeding 2024 Figures for February and March

Aehcos anticipates hotel occupancy rates in February and March surpassing last year's figures, driven mainly by international tourism.

The Costa del Sol Hospitality Employers Association, Aehcos, has projected a hotel occupancy rate of 73.26% for February, which would surpass the 70% recorded in February 2024. The majority of visitors, about 65%, are expected to come from international markets, compared to 35% from domestic tourists.

The municipality with the highest projected hotel occupancy rate for February is Frigiliana-Torrox at 83%, followed by Nerja at 78.31%, Benalmádena at 67.07%, and Mijas at 64.07%.

For March 2025, Aehcos estimates a hotel occupancy rate of 75.47%, which is similar to the 75.10% recorded in March 2024. Again, Frigiliana-Torrox leads with an estimated occupancy of 81%, followed by Nerja at 77.32%, Benalmádena at 74.99%, and Mijas at 69.62%.

Aehcos also noted that January 2025 hotel occupancy in the province was 60.58%, slightly higher than the 58.23% from the same period last year, with most visitors being international tourists (around 80% compared to 20% domestic).

The highest occupancy in January was recorded in Nerja at 76.91%, followed by Frigiliana-Torrox at 68%, and Benalmádena and Mijas with 54.47% and 50.98%, respectively.

Regarding the Gross Impact per customer per night (IBCA), there was a significant decrease compared to the previous year, registering €88.73 in January 2025, lower than the €110.54 observed in January 2024.
