
The Costa del Sol Hospitality Employers Association, Aehcos, has projected a hotel occupancy rate of 73.26% for February, which would surpass the 70% recorded in February 2024. The majority of visitors, about 65%, are expected to come from international markets, compared to 35% from domestic tourists.
The municipality with the highest projected hotel occupancy rate for February is Frigiliana-Torrox at 83%, followed by Nerja at 78.31%, Benalmádena at 67.07%, and Mijas at 64.07%.
For March 2025, Aehcos estimates a hotel occupancy rate of 75.47%, which is similar to the 75.10% recorded in March 2024. Again, Frigiliana-Torrox leads with an estimated occupancy of 81%, followed by Nerja at 77.32%, Benalmádena at 74.99%, and Mijas at 69.62%.
Aehcos also noted that January 2025 hotel occupancy in the province was 60.58%, slightly higher than the 58.23% from the same period last year, with most visitors being international tourists (around 80% compared to 20% domestic).
The highest occupancy in January was recorded in Nerja at 76.91%, followed by Frigiliana-Torrox at 68%, and Benalmádena and Mijas with 54.47% and 50.98%, respectively.
Regarding the Gross Impact per customer per night (IBCA), there was a significant decrease compared to the previous year, registering €88.73 in January 2025, lower than the €110.54 observed in January 2024.
