Digi Yatra, a Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI)-based platform utilizing facial biometric technology, has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 10 million application downloads. This accomplishment highlights the platform’s increasing popularity and its vital role in providing efficient and privacy-conscious travel experiences.

Established in December 2022, Digi Yatra employs facial recognition to facilitate the processing of travelers at 24 airports across India, boasting more than 45 million seamless journeys to date. With nearly 10 million users, the app maintains an impressive average of 30,000 downloads each day, setting new standards in digital travel solutions.

“The 10 million user milestone reflects the trust and confidence that our users have placed in us. Our efforts, including the ‘d-KYC’ campaign initiative, significantly contributed to our growth in 2024. Future Aspirations

Digi Yatra has ambitious aims for 2025, including:

  • Supporting all 22 official Indian languages to break language barriers and improve traveler navigation through airport processes.
  • Initiating an international pilot project aimed at allowing foreign travelers with electronic passports to benefit from this seamless travel ecosystem.
